We are currently beta testing the VOIP Switchboard system ourselves, but we are so pleased with it so far we have gone live!

How this works...

We supply you a dedicated V server to host your pbx software, your control centre if you like.

You can have a number of telephone numbers that connect to the pbx, such as 0845.  You can, at this time at least, also register a number of LOCAL numbers that route to the system. Ideal if you want to represent a London office for example, you can have 020.

We can set the software up to your exacting requirements.  Extension numbers are allocated to each person in your organistation.  They can be ANY LOCATION, as long as they can connect to the internet.

You can opt to use software on your pc/laptop in conjunction with a headset, or buy desk top phones that daisychain into your pc's network connection.  There are a number of alternative "telephones" that can be utilised, including cordless handsets through to multi fuction "the dogs" desktop phones.

Each extension can be assiged to any number of "groups".  So you can have "Sales", "Support" etc.  These are then represented in your menu options the client hears, e.g. "press 1 for sales, 2 for support"

On pressing the number the caller can be routed to either a direct extension number or one of the groups.  If it is a group call, all extension numbers in that group will ring until the call is answered.  If not answered the call goes into a queue where the caller gets a positional reminder every so often e.g. "You are call number 6 in the queue please hold the line".

Calls can be transferred to different extensions.  As each extension has up to 6 lines to utilise you can even put a caller on hold, dial a mobile number on another line, and connect the two.  How flexible is that for connecting a prospect through to your sales manager, even if he is away from his desk.

How much does this all cost?

Based on a "small business" of up to 2 numbers, 10 extensions and 5 groups we forsee the prices to be as follows:

Monthly cost of Dedicated V Server : £99
Installation and configuration of open source PBX software : £499
Desktop business phone : £89 each

All prices plus vat.
